Vision Zero

Zane Walker ‘22, co-leader of the Vision Zero Youth Council, a student-led group that works with local schools, organizations, and elected officials in the fight for street safety, publishes an Op-Ed in The Daily News about the urgent need to curb traffic violence in New York City. Our infrastructure is deeply flawed, making way for deadly crashes and reckless behavior all across the city. Our streets often invite drivers to hurtle through residential neighborhoods with only their own time and convenience in mind. Pedestrians are left to traverse narrow sidewalks and brave these harrowing thoroughfares, relegated to the meager scraps of our city.
